Laura Recommends: Carly Pearce- Closer To You

Carly Pearce is one of the most talented musicians around at the moment and I just adore her vocal tone and songwriting ability and with her new release 'Closer To You' she brings a dash of the 90s into the current time. 

It's something that's been lacking in the modern day Country world for sometime but thankfully Carly is bringing it back. The 90s were huge for Country music and saw artists such as Shania Twain breaking barriers and creating major crossover country sounds. 

Now, fast forward to 2018 and Carly Pearce is one of the current day trailblazers. She's not afraid to mix genre styles and 'Closer To You' is a totally mixed bag. It has major Country influences but also has plenty of pop thrown in there and the chorus is insanely catchy and will no doubt get stuck in your head on a loop for days.  

Pearce is such a brilliant talent but I wasn't sure if she could better tracks such as 'Careless', and 'Every Little Thing', but this new release is her best to date and shows another side to one of my favourite artists.
