Laura Recommends - Sarah Darling - Fire

On Friday, Sarah Darling shared her stunning new single 'Fire'. The track is about having a fire inside of you as you look to follow your dreams and was inspired by the Vincent Van Gogh quote: "There may be a great fire in our hearts, yet no one ever comes to warm himself at it, and the passers-by see only a wisp of smoke". 

This is one of the most personal tracks on Darling's sensational new album 'Wonderland' which will be released June 7th. I have had an early listen to the record and can safely say that this is her best body of work to date. Which is a huge compliment considering the incredible albums she has released in the past, not least the divine 'Dream Country'.

'Fire' is one of my personal favourites and I instantly connected with its powerful lyrics about having a dream and a passion and being unable to do anything but follow that path.

I first heard Sarah sing the song live during Country Music Week at the Borderline venue in London and fell in love straight away. I am so glad it has been chosen as the next single off 'Wonderland' as it gives a wonderful insight into the overall vibe of the album and is a powerful, moving track that acts as a great inspiration as I continue to follow my dream of becoming a full-time, paid music journalist.
