Laura Recommends: The Shires - Guilty (Acoustic)

Published on

When The Shires returned earlier this year with their massive pop infused country hit 'Guilty' they signalled to the world that they are ready to dominate both the country and pop charts. The huge siren sounds included on the track added to the level of feel-good fun and it has been a standout moment during their tour so far.

And they have now totally stripped the fantastic song down as they release an official acoustic version of the smash hit. The new version takes it back to its original country roots and allows the lyrics to shine without the need for a pop production.

The original is a massive radio hit while this acoustic version will allow die-hard country fans to fall in love with The Shires' stunning harmonies all over again. Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes simply shine on this stripped back rendition and the guitar strings really bring it to life.

It also showcases the level of play available to country acts as they look to infuse a number of genres into the country genre. Pop infused hits work just as well as these stripped back numbers and it is that versatility that is drawing new fans to become country converts.

The duo have performed the acoustic version of 'Guilty' on a number of TV shows including The One Show but it's awesome for us fans to now be able to download the sublime song as it is probably even better than the original.

So if you're looking for a fantastic country track to listen to this week look no further than The Shires' acoustic version of their hit 'Guilty'. You will not be disappointed.
