Laura Recommends: Una Healy - Never See Me Cry

Published on

I was never that big a fan of The Saturdays but when Una Healy launched her solo career last year with a new country sound I was instantly intrigued and I totally fell in love with stunning vocals and her debut single 'Stay My Love' featuring Sam Palladio was a perfect introduction to her solo sound.

Her debut solo album 'The Waiting Game' was released shortly after and it included a tracklist of stunning country, pop and folk sounds that suited Healy's voice beautifully. And it's fast become one of my favourite records.

And now she is back with her brand new single 'Never See Me Cry' which is a massive country-pop track with a huge beat, tongue-in-cheek lyrics and major F-U message to that ex who assumed you'd never get over that broken heart.

It's a playful song with a brilliant vibe and beat and has that old-school Shania Twain sound to it which makes it even better. The track is lifted off her upcoming new album which I can't wait for.

It's such a shame that she is not coming to Cardiff or Bristol as part of her first headlining tour later this year as I really would love to see her live soon. Her vocals are simply beautiful and she is a very welcome addition to the country music genre.

With 'Never See Me Cry' I feel Una Healy has really cemented herself as bonafide country artist and has truly found her sound so if you're looking for some new music to listen to this week look no further than this brilliant track.
